Welcome! Thank you for considering Monmouth Montessori Academy as your child’s place of development and education. When my husband and I began this journey two years ago, we were determined to create an exceptional learning and caring environment for children, including our own three children. We created a clean and bright space that feels like an extension of home. We followed The American Montessori Society’s utmost standards for an exceptional Montessori school. We hired phenomenal teachers who not only teach, but know, nurture, support and cherish your child. What I did not anticipate, however, was the wonderful community that would enfold. The parents that began walking through the door each day became friends. Their children took over my heart. The school became OURS. Something great is happening here and I feel more committed than ever to having another incredible year.
According to Dr. Maria Montessori’s research, the most vital period in a child’s development is between the ages of three and six. What they learn during this time will stay with them forever. Because of this fact, many parents are increasingly more sophisticated and savvy when selecting a preschool. Monmouth Montessori Academy is committed to the child-centered learning philosophy that fosters academic excellence, personal growth and cultural awareness while nurturing our children’s spirits.
Let’s work together in creating a rich and meaningful start to our children’s lives.

OUR MISSION AND VISION
Our mission at Monmouth Montessori Academy is to empower the imagination, mind and heart of each child. Guided by the work of Maria Montessori, we create an environment where children are inspired to realize their academic, personal and social potential.
Empowering the imagination, the child is challenged in classroom environment which inspires self-paced, individualized and guided discovery. The curriculum prepares the child for academic success while stimulating creativity, curiosity and a love of learning
Empowering the mind, the child is respected as an individual. Self-esteem, independent learning and self-confidence are fostered by the daily activities of the classroom community.
Empowering the heart, the child becomes an essential member of the global community, working for peace and a better environment. Through shared activities, the child develops a respect for others and a desire for peaceful problem-solving.
At MMA , each child becomes independent life-long learners who are academically grounded and socially confident about their place in the world.
A large part of Monmouth Montessori Academy’s charm lies in the setting. Located on nearly an acre of land in a quiet community, our school building is one of two historical school houses dating back to 1888 (refurbished, of course!). The original Glendola School bell is now held in reserve at the Old Wall Historical Society and an antique slate chalkboard/room divider is still enclosed within the school’s ceiling. Of course, the building has since been completely renovated to meet our current needs, including central air for our summer program.
